Late 18th century French large quilt in an unusual and striking flammé striped coarsely woven cotton textile.The reverse has a windowpane center of  a mouchoir de cou/fichu with a bonne herbes design of scattered lowers on a densely printed ground surrounded by a second blockprint of rasberry red  and white flowers on a geometric background.

The flammé side is in good condition but has some old water stains in places.

The Bonnes Herbes reverse suffers from holes and splits in the cloth across the piece with the padded wool appearing through.
