Circa 1800 French indigo resist block printed cotton cushion.A striking design,probably from Rouen in Northern France, of arching acanthus leaves and stylised floral and leaf motifs.Simply quilted and backed in a natural indigo dyed 19th century French linen.Slip-stitched closed with a duck feather cushion pad.

One or two small spots of textile weakness  and two small repairs

There is a seamed join original to the piece towards the bottom of the cushion.
