Circa 1795 French toile de Jouy, 'L'Offronde a L'amour' (The Offering of Love) ,designed by Jean-Baptiste Huet for Manufacture Oberkampf at Jouy-en-Josas. Cupid stands atop a column being offered a lamb and flowers with shepherds and shepherdesses pictured in bucolic patoral scenes amongst farmyard animals with a piper playing for dancing children.
In good overall condition with the print a lovely scarlet colour but has been cut down from a larger quilt so that the right edge has a raw edge. Some small discolouration in places
A damaged reverse with a small pretty blockptint showing from underneath the 19th century top layer.
