Gorgeous French circa 1780 indigo resist textile, blockprinted with a stylised design of arching acanthus leaves with stylised flowers and spotted leaves.An earlier version of this popular design from around Rouen in Northern France, it is printed on a soft textured cotton which gives the indigo a most beautiful dense quality.
With one small area of darning and scattered small holes here and there.
