Gorgeous French late 18th/early 19th century bonnes herbes blockprinted cotton quilt.A 'bonnes herbes' is a dense design of small scale flowers and leaves, the one on this quilt was originally a mouchoir de cou or fichu.It is bordered by a thin indigo woven stripe and red cotton
The center "bonnes herbes is in good condition and measures108cm x 100cm.
The red border less so with old repairs and in places with the wool padding showing through.
The reverse is in poor condition
