Pair of French late 19th century papier mache hat boxes in a beautiful shade of blue.The larger size had an interesting and unusual domed lid and oval shape.Both have their makers 'Noel' label

Large box measures 49cm long x 20cm wide x 31cm tall

Smaller box measures 32cm long x 29cm wide x 26cm tall

Basically sturdy but does show its age and usage with wear and tear, split edges and peeling paper.However this does not detract from their great charm.
