Rare circa 1785 French Toile de Nantes, possibly by Manufacturer Petitpierre Frères, printed and quilted cotton cotton cushion.Stylised madder red roses with bleu de pastel leaves on meandering thorny branches.Alternating with a diamond roses patterned stripe.The reverse an 18th century French woven striped cotton.Slip-stitched closed with a duck feather cushion pad.
In an as found antique condition, the cushion is made from an original section which consists of several pieced together sections
