Circa 1790s French siamoise (cotton/linen) quilt blockprinted in a design called 'La Cornue Fleurie, Manufacturer by Petitpierre Freres,Nantes.A lovely design of large-scale flowers alternating with stripes of scrolling ribbons and scattered flowers.Unusual to find a complete quilt in this pattern.
In an as found antique condition with uneven colouring and a stronger colour palette on the right side of the quilt to very faded on the right hand side.With some faded small staining and small splits in the cloth where the wool wadding can be seenn and unfinished edges in places.
